VICTORIA'S (AND ALBERT'S) SECRETS
V&A MUSEUM, LONDON, ENGLAND

The Royal Academy shows of why it is so amazing at the V&A museum. Here are my favourites.

KATIE EARY
Details of men's ceremonial and military uniform inspire Katie Eary's flamboyant menswear. Here, she reinterprets the elaborate headwear and decorative uniform of the British army's Grenadier Guards. Hundreds of Swarovski crystals arranged in a leopard-print pattern create a dazzling effect.

SIRI JOHANSEN

A jumper belonging to Siri Johansen's mother inspired this playful experiment with technique and scale. Low-tech meets high-tech in that the sleeves are hand-knitted and the torso machine knitted. An electronic Morat knitting machine produced the magnified, 2-D image of a familiar cable knit pattern.

ADRIAN SOMMERAUER
Sommeraruer takes inspiration from domestic interiors, sleepwear and views from his kitchen window. The t-shirt and jacket are sewn together as if they were picked up from a bedroom floor. Their muted grey colour palette echoes the rainy London skylines pictured in Sommerauer's photographs.
